Let us review the events of this weekend, roughly in order:

I lost my debit card. I had to cancel it. My new one arrives in five to seven business days. Deja vu.

My reading glasses broke. They are jury-rigged together with copper wire. I will get some new ones now. (They're not drugstore reading glasses, they're prescription and mostly for the computer, tv and stuff. I can get along without them but get headaches and eyestrain.)

I returned from a day up in the Hudson Valley looking at foliage to find Gina has a broken arm. A broken arm. A broken arm.

I'm not surprised, mind you - this is Gina we're talking about - but good god almighty. Then I hear that Miss M. and her housemate survived an apartment fire. (All are fine.)

But Jesus, people. Jesus.
