There's been a plumber in the house for the last few days, fixing a leak that goes from G.'s bathroom to my closet. I haven't been able to put anything in my closet as a consequence, so despite having lived here for almost a month, I remain not-fully-unpacked. This is disheartening. I like things to be in their places.

G. made pork chops on the grill tonight and we had them, and broccoli and corn-on-the-cob and Bud Lite for dinner. She barbecues a mean pork chop, with real Kansas City barbecue sauce procured from her hometown and treated as more precious than molten gold, or a bottle of Thomas Jefferson's 1787 Chateau Margaux.
