Here is my mix of my favourite showtunes from my favourite shows. (Except for two shows which I've never seen/heard the soundtrack of in any form except for these single songs from them-- Sweet Charity and Hairspray-- but they're great songs.)

My rule was, only one song from each show. Which was hard but we need rules in life. All are from Original Cast Recordings unless otherwise noted.

"Jazz Hands"
1. "I Was Born on the Day Before Yesterday" - The Wiz
2. "Save the People" - Godspell movie soundtrack
3. "Winter's on the Wing" - The Secret Garden
4. "Sugar Daddy" - Hedwig and the Angry Inch
5. "Manchester, England" - Hair
6. "You Can't Stop the Beat" - Hairspray
7. "Take Me or Leave Me" - Rent (SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP)
8. "Another Hundred People" - Company
9. "Heaven on their Minds" - Jesus Christ Superstar movie soundtrack
10. "If Momma Was Married" - Gypsy Bette Midler tv version
11. "It Takes Two" - Into the Woods
12. "The Egg" - 1776
13. "The Rhythm of Life" - Sweet Charity
14. "Suddenly, Seymour" - Little Shop of Horrors movie soundtrack
15. "Nothing" - A Chorus Line*
16. "The Miller's Son"** - A Little Night Music
17. "This Is Not Over Yet" - Parade
18. "Move On" - Sunday in the Park With George

A full third of these songs are duets. Hm.

*I actually prefer the movie version, but couldn't find it on Limewire.
** Actually, my favourite song from that album is the bonus track of the movie version of "The Glamorous Life", but since it only appeared in the movie version, I felt it improper to include it.
