Yesterday in my drawing class I was just Not Having It so for the longer pose I decided to just draw the guy's foot. So I drew the guy's foot and it turned out to be a pretty good foot. Nothing else I drew that evening was remotely satisfactory, so at the end I put the foot up on the wall. (It reminded me of a Gilliam foot and consequently, I got the Monty Python theme song in my head and whistled it for the rest of the night. Sadly, no one else got it.) The foot was critiqued favorably at the end of the night, and just as the discussion of foot was dying down, I noticed that it only had four toes and burst out laughing. When I explained why I was laughing to everyone else, they laughed too because none of them had noticed, either.

And of course I always draw feet with four toes unless I'm paying slavish attention to accuracy (ha! ha! when do I ever? ha!) because I learned to draw feet by copying Wendy Pini. I find that endlessly amusing.
