It really annoys me that the only connection from the 6th ave line (my F train) to the 7th ave/W Broadway line (1, 2, 3, 9, whatever the hell it's calling itself these days) is through that loooooong tunnel at 14th street. The tunnel used to be better when they had those little crocodile scuptures along the walls, but they took those out years ago (although if you look closely you can see the ghostly outlines of some crocodiles remaining on the walls.)

It's just stupid that I have to go from Roosevelt Island (parallel 63rd street) all the way down to 14th street in order to go up to 72nd street to see Aimee tonight.

Stoo-pid.

And, no, I refuse to use surface transit. Buses are for people with some sense of direction. I don't think I've ever gotten on a bus going the right way.
