Today was Advanced Drawing. Advanced Drawing looks like it's going to be the same as Beginner's Drawing, except with a smaller room and a less ebullient teacher. Too bad. Still, it should be fun enough. I'm sharing a locker with a girl named Antonia. Antonia and Octavia. I like that. Antonia was Octavia and Marc Antony's son, you know.

The studio was falling apart. The whole school is falling apart, really, but this particular art studio was particularly cruddy. Plaster falling off the walls kind of cruddy. And I heard an ugly rumour that they've replaced all the laserjet printers in the computer lab with old dot-matrix ones. Dot-matrix printers. Like this is the 80's or something. It's like Jimmy James going through WNYX and replacing all the desks with card tables and folding chairs. Exactly how can trading in our printers save the school money? Good god, does CUNY need funding. If I had any kind of energy or sense of social outrage I'd protest or something.

Addendum: It's true. They have replaced the printers, and if you want a laserjet printout you have to pay 7¢ a copy. Apparently the computer lab now echoes with the tt-tt-tt-tt-tt-tt-tt of old-fashioned out-of-date cheap-ass printers.
