After my Granny died family members descended on her house like locust and grabbed anything and everything thing they thought had value. I was not there as I had no money to fly home and my mother would not loan me the money, saying there was no point of me being there. Yeah, no need for me to be there to show respect for one of the few people in this world that I really loved. Funny how much that still hurts me after all these years. Anyway, I'm rambling, but, it's my blog and I can do that if I want to...I would not have wanted to see my cousins squabbling over trinkets and coats...my mother and sister said it was disgusting and just sat on the couch watching it happen. My mother made sure that I got a couple of quilts that my Nanny had made and Christmas ornaments that had been my Granny and Grandpa's. She also made sure I got some of the little statue's that my Granny loved. She knew that I would rather have those kinds of things, cause I could look at them and remember how much Granny loved them.
Last week at around 5:00 in the morning the cats were fighting in my room and they pulled down the quilt stand holding my Nanny's quilts and broke it and knocked it into the cabinet I had the statues on...Only two of them came away un broken...just a carnage of broken statues on my floors. As I sat crying my eyes out as I picked up the pieces, I knew that I was being stupid. There are so many bad things in this world, so many bad things have happened...what are a few statues.
