Once again I will be talking about my trip out of order.
Last Sunday I spent the morning wandering through ruins that were built before the birth of JC by the evil king, who sought to murder him even when he was first born. It was a fantastic place, ruins of a theatre, roadways, warehouses and a palace all on the most beautiful stretch of beach with turquoise colored water...my former charge and I played on the beach and collected shells while her mother conducted a phone interview for an important school paper.
We hopped in the car and drove of to another town down the coast, a pretty peacefull drive. We entered the town that is built up the side of a mountain, fretting over a map trying to figure out where the tourist site we wanted to see could be. I gave directions from a map that was hard for me to read and as we turned a curve I said this is where it supposed to be, and I looked up and saw a ,most beautiful site. A temple with terraced gardens that reach almost all the way up the mountain! I gasped, as my friend was still wondering if we had it right, then she looked up and she also gasped and turned to me and said, "Yep! We got it right!" Such beauty! We were so excited and happily spent the afternoon in the town, exploring and riding a cable car down the mountain and then dining by the ocean before heading home. Happy happy memories.
Today, fifteen people were killed there and many more wounded. It is so disgusting and so sickening. How can people believe they can do these things in the name of a god. I just do not understand.
I always worry when bad things happen over there. I worry about my friends. I hate it.
